Jordan Corda: Vibraphone

Dario Piccioni: Double Bass

Francesco Merenda: Drums

The "Jordan Corda Trio" marks the encounter and first official collaboration between three prominent musicians of the Roman and national jazz scene: vibraphonist Jordan Corda, double bassist Dario Piccioni, and drummer Francesco Merenda.

Returning victorious from the renowned "Johnny Raducanu" International Jazz Contest and Festival in Braila, Romania, and from the Isio a Saba Award in Cagliari (on behalf of Dario Piccioni), the group stands as one of the rare examples of a vibraphone trio formation.

They offer a repertoire of original compositions in a modern/contemporary style that, however, does not forsake the more traditional and fervent language of jazz. This is further illustrated by their execution of refined jazz tradition standards. A shared characteristic of their repertoire is the pursuit of captivating rhythmic tempos intertwined with sophisticated and polished melodies.

In significant jazz festivals and events, including the European Jazz Expo, Calagonone Jazz Festival, Johnny Raducanu Jazz Festival in Romania, Jazz delle Abbazie, Cultural Festival of the Etruscan Cimina Area, Jazz Mi, Blue Note Off, Culture Festival, Bovale Jazz, Una Nave di Libri for Barcelona, Novara Jazz, Bollate Jazz Meeting, Monfrà Jazz Fest.

In addition to conducting various masterclasses and seminars, Corda has embarked on an intensive concert career with several prominent Italian jazz orchestras. Notably, he collaborated with the Orchestra Jazz della Sardegna (featuring Mario Biondi), the Verdi Jazz Orchestra directed by Maestro Pino Jodice, which hosted special guests such as Dave Douglas, Tullio De Piscopo,

Paolo Fresu, Fabrizio Bosso, and Juan Carlos Albelo Zamora. He also played with the AreaM Jazz Orchestra featuring the Inside Jazz Quartet, Matt Renzi, Pino Jodice, Oscar Del Barba, Paola Folli, and Walter Ricci. Corda joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra in Trieste and Milan.

In 2022, he and his trio won the international competition at the "Johnny Raducanu" Jazz Festival in Braila, Romania, and he received the Isio Saba Award in Cagliari on behalf of double bassist Dario Piccioni. He also won the Audience Award and became a finalist in the Solo Jazz category of the National Chicco Bettinardi Competition.
